Thuthukani
Myeza is a digital collage artist who works in Johannesburg, South Africa, and
was raised in the little town of Welvenkop on the outskirts of Mpumalanga.
Thuthukani
began creating digital collages during the first phase of the pandemic in 2020.
Having become disillusioned with poetry, Thuthukani turned to visual art in
attempts of solace and refuge.
Thuthukani
defines his work as “An elaborate pursuit of sanity” having no distinct style;
his work often explores the beauty and dread of being African. With influences from
apartheid, segregation, and pre-colonial Africa, his work is manufactured from both
deconstructed and discovered Afrofuturism.
