Ms Simone Paid internship project



MS SIMONE PAID INTERNSHIP PROJECT

With the current unemployment statistics in South Africa, Ms Simone aimed at presenting one paid internship specifically to a female candidate in attempts to combat gender equality in the sector. The internship will engage, mentor, as well as to impart on the candidate, the best practice skills set for succeeding in the global art sector.

Ms Simone Welcomes Boitumelo Maditshaba Makousu who will serve in the position of Project and Research Assistant.



ABOUT BOITUMELO MAKOUSU

Boitumelo Maditshaba Makousu is a cultural, heritage & creative enthusiast, writer, researcher, and administrator. Having previously worked with Lattitudes Online, Creative Feel, Javette UP Art Center, Art Times, NWU Gallery as well as KANO Creative Agency and KTD Arts, We believe Ms Makousu serves as the ideal candidate for the internship.

Boitumelo holds a post-graduate certificate in Archives and Records management, and is currently studying towards a Bachelor’s in Arts in Tourism (Honours).

By harmoniously combining her passions towards GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums), Boitumelo aims at expressing her curiosity and eagerness towards the global creative and cultural spaces.  Her interests include the curation of untold narratives with a specific focus on contemporary South African and African art. Furthermore, Boitumelo puts emphasis on the preservation of the arts that will ensure these creative expressions are to be known for generations to come.
